Student Guide 2016

I’m not sure anyone would accuse SLO County of having diversity. And for some Cal Poly students and staff and faculty members, it’s something the university needs to take a long hard look at creating. It’s about inclusion, campus culture, and people’s attitudes. In the cover story for this year’s annual Student Guide, Staff Writer Peter Johnson talks to stakeholders about race, diversity, and the changes needed to fix Poly’s perceived issue.

For more in this year’s Student Guide we can teach you how to keep your leftovers alive, what five things you should know about college that nobody ever tells you, why Cuesta College is starting a nuclear power education program, where the new “it” spot to get a tattoo is, and which places to explore outside of SLO.

—Camillia Lanham, editor
