With two Republicans running for San Luis Obispo County sheriff, a non-political office, what is a Democrat to do?
During the prelude to the primary elections in June, a mailer was sent to my house titled “The Best Choices for San Luis Obispo Democrats.” It implied that the Democratic Central Committee was supporting Ian Parkinson for sheriff. This was not true; the DCC had not endorsed any of the six candidates for sheriff. This mailer was just a political trick to get Parkinson elected.
We don’t need a leader in the Sheriff’s Department elected by dirty political tricks.
I urge everyone, especially Democrats, to vote for Joe Cortez for sheriff. He will provide leadership that is trustworthy, respectful, ethical, courageous, unbiased, and visionary.
