The congresswoman welcomes input--and boy, does she get it 

Regarding Robert Scott’s recent letter about communicating with Congresswoman Lois Capps (“‘Capps for Congress’ doesn’t like questioning,” March 29):

The congresswoman communicates with and receives regular feedback from her constituents through a variety of means. This includes—but is not limited to—numerous public events, regular telephone town halls and e-newsletters, personal meetings with her or her staff, as well as a constant stream of phone calls, faxes, postal mail, and e-mail to her office from constituents across her congressional district.

For example, last year alone her office received and responded to nearly 50,000 pieces of correspondence from Central Coast residents. Her telephone town halls have thousands of participants, and on them she takes questions from constituents from Cambria to Oxnard and everywhere in between. She also maintains an official Facebook page—completely separate from her campaign page—where she shares her thoughts about the issues of the day. Those following her official page can, and do, comment on issues she raises or ones they want to bring up. A quick perusal of the congresswoman’s official Facebook page gives evidence of the often lively debate. Mr. Scott is, in fact, a regular poster on this page.

To say that she hears a wide variety of opinions expressed on every issue imaginable from her constituents every day would be an understatement.
