Some people treat bikes and cars differently

In defense of Kylie Mendonca's "Bike tickets are lame" (Nov. 9), it is not so outlandish to consider how traffic laws could apply differently to the automobile, the bicycle, and the pedestrian. Others do. Google "Idaho bike laws" and look at No. 49-720. It reads "A person operating a bicycle ... approaching a stop sign shall slow down and, if required for safety, stop before entering the intersection ... ."

The law need not bother with those who don't stop for their own safety and the safety of others. Darwin will take care of them.

  • I'm so excited and can't wait to go this summer!
  • It's great that local racers will return to the Central Coast track.
  • I'll feel better once I see it last a few more years.
  • Ugh. I can already hear the noise and see the traffic.
