Paso council is all wet on water rates

Paso Robles

Once again, the Paso Robles City Council has proposed doubling our water rates. The new water rate is so similar to that of the plan that was voted down in November, it seems the council simply will not listen to the citizens.

In adding the cost of the water treatment plant to our water bills, they are in essence getting an open checkbook. If we do not object today, we will be obligated to pay whatever the cost of the water treatment plant totals. It will be another done deal. If new development doesn’t happen as predicted or if the cost for the $56 million treatment plant ends up higher than expected, guess who will be paying more and more?

Anyone who opposes this plan should write to the city clerk saying so. We don’t need another payment plan: We need a plan for reduced spending.
