I am distressed that the San Luis Obispo County Breastfeeding Clinic and 541-BABY Warm Line are going to be shut down. It will be a great loss to our community if the clinic is not kept open. I made a middle-of-the-night call to the Warm Line when feeding my newborn wasn’t going well. The next morning I got a call from the clinic and was squeezed into the day’s schedule. The clinic was my lifeline. Yvonne, Margaret, and Olga gave me the support and knowledge that I needed. They helped me look past my emotions and focus on my baby’s needs and assimilate those needs into working a solution. Their commitment to the mothers and babies they serve is amazing. Words cannot explain how grateful I am to them.
