If this is true, how could it happen?

In response to “Fed up” (July 17):

It is incomprehensible, if the allegations are true.

The published allegations against San Luis Obispo’s Chipotle restaurant’s regional manager are extremely serious. If true, they paint Chipotle in San Luis Obispo as an egregiously hostile workplace. How many of us would like to exchange our hard-earned money for grub at such a work site? Folks, put my name at the top of the “no” list.

If the allegations are substantially correct, at the very least the regional manager needs some serious sensitivity training for 30 days while off payroll. At most, the regional manager needs immediate termination. San Luis Obispo and our beloved Central Coast don’t need him to manage the preparation of our restaurant meals.

If the allegations are proven, one has to wonder how such an insensitive and ignorant person would get promoted into regional management in a viable American restaurant chain that has a well-earned reputation for dishing out good food. And what does this say about the judgment and the quality of Chipotle’s upper management who hired and trained him? Not even a partially satisfactory answer comes to mind.

I wish the beleaguered employee well in her lawsuit.
