Bill Denneen: hypocrite

In response to the commentary by Bill Denneen in the New Times Dec. 12: Mr. Denneen, you complain about the church and that its tax-exempt status should be taken away. Why? If it is because the church is overwhelmingly conservative and pushes its views onto the minds of voters, I totally agree with you. But then I would have to ask you to be consistent (a word not found in the vocabulary of many of your ilk) and call for a stop to any and all federal and state funding of our educational system, especially colleges. It may be news to you, but 88 percent of all college professors are Democrats. We both know that they push their ideas as fervently as churches do.

I just have a funny feeling that you will spin this and say that educators have a right to spew their beliefs to our young on our tax dollars, yet churches, who only get tax relief and not funding, should be held to account. Am I wrong?
