On Dec. 27, Paul Andrew Wikholm, 21, of Nipomo, was killed by an apparent hit-and-run on Thompson Avenue.
Another driver from Nipomo called 911 and reported discovering Wikholm after hitting the body with his vehicle at about 5:20 a.m.
Autopsy results showed that Wikholm was killed by blunt force trauma. Sgt. Brian Hascall, public information officer for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department, said that Wikholm is believed to have died almost instantly and therefore was deceased before being hit by the caller’s vehicle. Toxicology results on Wikholm were not available as of press time.
