If you’ve never been out to the Filipponi Ranch for an al fresco production by the Central Coast Shakespeare Festival, you’re in for a treat. Beginning on Friday, July 17, the company is performing a production of Carlo Goldoni’s 1746 comedic masterpiece The Servant of Two Masters. The farce follows Truffaldino—clever, greedy, but also gullible—as he takes on two masters believing it will double his wages and meals. Mayhem and mistaken identity follow.

The production plays Fridays through Sundays through Aug. 9. Visit centralcoastshakespeare.org and follow the link to tickets, which generally run $14.10 to $22.50, though July 24 and 31, tickets are as low as $6.50. The company next mounts Shakespeare’s Macbeth—a tragedy that explores the violence and psychological trauma of political ambitions—Sept. 26 to Oct. 11.

“Watch the scheming servant Truffaldino juggle two employers, two dinners, and an inconvenient number of desserts in this whirlwind of mistaken identities and physical comedy that has delighted audiences for centuries,” Central Coast Shakespeare Festival announced. “Join us on the beautiful Filipponi Ranch. Pack your picnic, your lawn chair, and lots of warm layers for an evening of live theater under the stars!”

You’ll be blown away by the gorgeous outdoor stage. ∆
