Have you ever wondered why humans engage in sometimes counterproductive or puzzling behavior? There’s a podcast for you.
NPR’s popular show Hidden Brain is coming to SLO live and in person with show host, veteran science journalist Shankar Vedantam, thanks to KCBX Public Radio and Cal Poly Arts.
This event is part of Hidden Brain’s national Perceptions tour, and SLO is its only West Coast stop at the Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Sept. 20 (3 to 4:30 p.m.; $39 to $95 at calpolyarts.org).
To celebrate the show’s 10-year anniversary, Vedantam will share “seven powerful insights learned over the past decade helping millions of listeners better understand themselves and the world around them,” organizers announced. “He explores the unconscious patterns that shape human behavior through a unique blend of science, storytelling, and psychology.
“The award-winning podcast tackles some of life’s most compelling questions, like, why do we feel stuck? How can we become more creative? What strengthens our relationships? And what hidden forces influence the choices we make every day?” organizers added.
KCBX Public Radio broadcasts Hidden Brain on-air and via online stream every Friday from 2 to 3 p.m., but also available on demand at KCBX.org. Δ
