Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation stages 'A Christmas Carol' 

Christmas isn’t complete without the following few things: hot chocolate, a copious amount of gifts, at least one viewing of Jingle All the Way, and Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol. This December, the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation will have at least one of these. That’s right! They’ve adapted Jingle All the Way into a full-on musical complete with singing Turboman doll.

No they haven’t, you silly billies.

They’re staging A Christmas Carol. Duh! Just in case you are Jacob Marley and died before the events of A Christmas Carol take place, here’s the gist. Dickens novella begins on Christmas Eve in the counting-house of chronic curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge. His business partner, Jacob Marley, has been dead seven years. Since, Scrooge has been the same emotionless miser he was before. That is, until that eve, when the ghost of Marley visits Scrooge and warns him that three ghosts will call upon him: the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. Along, the way Scrooge learns some valuable lessons about life and about wearing a nightgown that’s appropriate for freezing weather.

The Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation production of A Christmas Carol plays Dec. 18 to Dec. 20. Shows start at 7 p.m., with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20. Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for students, seniors, and military; $5 for children 12 and under. Call 238-5825 for more information.
