The disgraceful events that occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at my home during the virtual Lucia Mar Unified School District board meeting are not what our community is about.
Our community is about neighbors helping neighbors and wanting to heal and support each other.
Thank you to all the students, staff, colleagues, dog walkers, and well-wishers who have reached out with their gifts and well wishes.
A special thank you to my courageous neighbor who tried to protect me.
Unity will win over division, helping over hurt, and good should always prevail over evil.
I will continue to work hard to keep Lucia Mar staff and students safe and make Lucia Mar the best it can be.

While I generally agree that the private homes of public officials should be left alone, this Lucia Mar school board trustee fails to point out that these protestors were responding the the board majority of trustees moving the public comment section of their board meeting to the end of the meeting, forcing members of the public to wait hours to vote their concerns.
Common sense and decency dictate that the Lucia Mar board of trustees ought to elicit public opinion at the beginning of their meetings, like nearly every other public agency would do, it is only right.
Now you know the rest of the story.
I’m sorry you had to endure this invasion of your privacy as well as the vicious verbals attacts by a certain element of the community who are in the minority. Thank you for making our children safe and for your service to our schools.
Allen Stevo, the gentleman that organized the inappropriate protest at Colleen’s home is from the Bay Area and not affiliated with CCFER in no such manner. The issues at to why she is being recalled is the fact that 155% of HS students had failing grades and Collen is quoted “that the students are not college bound material.” She also voted to remain school closure when the State gave the green light.
The recall issues remain firm since its ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN, our precious cargo.
I am guessing that a lot of the people who are condemning the protest here are the same people who are cheering similar protests when they occur at the homes of political figures they oppose. Consistency = credibility.
