Winter is coming! Oh wait, this is as wintery as it gets on the Central Coast.Ā

Soak up all the cold, wintery magical holiday happenings while you can. While San Luis Obispo isn’t quite cold enough for the town to have naturally frozen lakes to skate and frolic across, sometimes faking it till you make it pans out.Ā

Have some fun and pretend you totally know what you’re doing at the Winter WonderSLO ice skating rink at the Alex Madonna Expo Center. Wannabe ice skating pros only have until Jan. 3 to get their fix before the ice thaws until next year. If skating’s not your thing, enjoy a toasty coffee, tea, hot chocolate (with mini-marshmallows!), or chomp on a yummy churro from the sidelines. Tickets for a one-hour skating session are $13 for general admission and $9 for kids 12 and under. Skate rentals are included in the price of admission. The rink is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m daily.Ā
