The office of county clerk-recorder is an important position that impacts every resident of SLO County. The office maintains land records, provides certified copies of birth and death certificates, issues marriage licenses, files business names, and runs local elections. The clerk-recorder must serve the public efficiently, ensure that the county is following all laws, and have the technical skills to run elections, all while operating in a transparent manner.
