 On May 30 the war in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan combined cost $1 trillion for operations, interest on the debt, and expenses for returning veterans. That money could be better used to employ every unemployed American in well-paying jobs, with enough money left over to provide free public university education for the next two decades to all U.S. students who enter college during that time.
 We must wage peace.
