If Gavin Newsom does not receive more that 50 percent of the vote on Sept. 14, one of his opponents can become governor with as little as 5 percent of the vote.

That’s right, a majority is needed to vote Newsom out of office, but a majority is not needed to choose his successor. The recall system is broken.

From the 46 candidates running, the one who gets the most votes out of the whole pack will become California’s next governor, that is until the next election for governor a year from now.

Do we want to replace Newsom so badly that we will settle on someone who does not have broad public support? I don’t. Especially when a majority of the voters can replace Newsom in 2022 with the candidate of their choice.

It’s seems crazy to vote a governor out because we don’t agree with his policies. He has done nothing illegal. He has partnered with state senators and Assembly persons who we elected with a majority of the vote to govern us fairly.

Republicans can’t restrict the vote in California like they are doing in dozens of states. But they can twist the vote in California by using the “recall” to elect one of their own with a tiny minority of the votes.

Republicans, who can’t win a statewide office like the governorship in a democratic election, are behind this recall. Nationwide they are spending millions of dollars to steal the election from the majority of the voters in California.

What can we do to save our state?

There is an easy solution. On the ballot you will receive in the mail there are two questions for you to answer. The First: Shall Gavin Newsom be recalled (removed) from the office of governor? Yes or no.

If you, and a majority of the voters, vote no, Newsom will complete his current term and have to run in the 2022 primary election against candidates of all parties in a true democratic election. The top two then run against each other for governor that November.

If you vote yes to remove Newsom, you are asked to choose one candidate from a list of 46 to replace him, if he is recalled.

This means that you know and trust the person you are voting for to do a better job than Newsom working with our Democratic Legislature. I don’t see anyone on that list of 46 who can do a better job. When you read all the names on the list, I bet you will agree.

If it matters to you what happens in California in the next year, you will vote not to remove a democratically elected governor. In so doing, you will stop the other party from perverting our election process.

It’s not whether you like Newsom or not, but whether you value democracy enough to let it truly work in November 2022. Δ

  1. “Steal the election from a majority of the voters”? Huh? If a majority of the voters choose to keep Newsom, he keeps his job, but if a majority choose to fire him, then he is out of work. It is a majority decision – that is how democracy works, even if it annoys you. The Democrats control California, and if most of them are happy with the job that Newsom has done, then he doesn’t have anything to worry about. Unfortunately for Newsom, it is likely that a majority will judge his term disastrous.

  2. “It’s seems crazy to vote a governor out because we don’t agree with his policies.”

    huh?

That’s actually quite sane. That’s actually the whole point of representative democracy. I hope this is meant to be satire.

  3. Republicans may rue the day they recall Newsom. It’s likely that if the governor is unseated, a right-wing, Trump loving talk show host named Larry Elder will garner the most votes as the replacementhe currently leads John Cox 19% to 6%.

Mr. Elder would be governor for approximately 13 months and would then most likely be the Republican candidate against an even more progressive Democrat than Newsom in the 2022 election. He would lose by a landslide and would prevent more common sense Republicans such as Kevin Faulconer from even competing.

    You go, Republicans!

  4. ELECT ELDER.com !!!!!!! Recall Newsom absolutely!! And stand up to these democrat, racist, liberal idiots when they try to steal the elections in 2022 and 2024. Democrats cheat, this is a fact proven over and over (see New York Boss Tweed, see LBJ, see Biden 2020). Enough of this liberal nonsense in our country. It’s time to get out of the transgender bathroom business and resume the leader of the free world business. It’s time to end the days of racists (democrat liberals) deciding who is racist and what is racist. It’s time to live free! Vote Republican.

  5. Silence: Not sure what history books you have
been reading, or not reading, but you seem confused. First, Boss Tweed died 143 years ago and the Democratic Party then has little resemblance to todays Democratic Party. Likewise for the Republican Party.

As for LBJ, he won the 1964 election by more than 15 million votes. There has never been any suggestion by ANYONE that Johnson cheated.

As for Biden, he won by more than 7 million votes, and other than plenty of hot air from Mr.Trump, there is zero evidence Biden cheated. In fact, when sued by Dominion, Trumps lawyer Sidney Powell admitted she was lying and said that anyone who believed that the election was rigged was basically crazy. Sorry Dogwood, but that’s you.

  6. Not confused in the least. Boss Tweed and the democrud party ARE the same, they just pander differently. With the media in their pocket, they can mold any message any way they wish for the lemmings in our world. LBJ WAS involved in some fishy voting scandals back in his early days in Texas circa 1940’s-50’s. Don’t know if you follow history not reported by MSNBS, but you can find this fairly easily if you open a BOOK! Biden is the penultimate illegitimate democrud politician. There are so many recounts going on currently, (most are being stopped by democrud party lawyers) that the likelihood that the 2020 election being on the level is about the same as the likelihood that Hillary “misplaced” her emails, or that Hunter Biden’s laptop only has bible verses (CCP approved of course) on it. Liberals have left us with dead soldiers, election fraud and welfare bills ad infinitum. No surprise, that’s what you get if you don’t VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!!

  7. Boss Tweed died 143 years ago and there’s very little about the Democratic Party in those days that I would agree with. It’s certain that I would have been a Progressive Republican in the vein of LaFollette or TR. Unfortunately, around 1912, the Republicans veered away from the “Square Deal” politics of Roosevelt and became a pro-wealth, pro-corporate entity that lived and died with support and contributions from the richest Americans—they remain the same to this day.

“They were stealin’ votes in east Texas and we were stealin’ votes in south Texas and only Jesus Christ could say who actually won,” stated LBJ supporter and Austin Mayor Tom Miller, about the 1948 Senate primary in Texas. Johnson won because his campaign released just enough votes at the right time to keep Coke Stevenson from calling foul.

So, sure, there was plenty of vote buying and trading in Texas, and across the south for that matter, during most of the early 20th century. Johnson, however, went on to win the general election by 33%. And Johnson lost elections after that, as well. In fact, in the 1964 presidential primary, Pat Brown actually won more popular votes than Johnson, but LBJ had the majority of delegates. Again, it was no contest in the general election as LBJ tallied 42 mill votes to Barry Goldwater’s 27 mill.

As for Biden, despite these so called audits, I have not seen one shred of evidence that reveals any widespread fraud (and it would have to be massive in an election with more than 155 million votes). If you have articles from reparable sources quantifying this fraud, I would love to see it.
