This well balanced wine offers enticing aromas and flavors of black cherries, black berries, and plums. Rounded out with spice and floral notes, and a touch of spicy oak, it drinks as deliciously on its own as it does with food. A sure thing for dinner at home or dinner parties, pair it with a grilled steak, rack of lamb, or quail, or a hearty ragù over pasta or rice. A blend of 51 percent Petite Sirah, 43 percent Syrah, 4 percent Tannat, and 2 percent Touriga, it’s quite impressive for only $14 retail, at the Paso tasting room, local wine shops and grocers.
