Lately, Hafley and his wife, Darci, have been hanging at the bar at Upper Crust Trattoria, conveniently midway between our two houses. To say that this has become a sort of bizarro Cheers situation for the Hafleys would be a massive understatement. Case in point: On our last visit, my husband and I learned that Shawn, now nicknamed “The Mayor of Upper Crust,” has his own drink at the bar. Of course, it’s a whiskey drink. Dubbed “Shawn’s Quarter” by creator/bartender Mike Michaud, the drink features rye whiskey, cognac, cherry liqueur, sweet vermouth, and two kinds of bitters. Of course, it’s topped with a maraschino cherry. Would anything less do for “the mayor” himself?
