The conservative majority on the Board of Supervisors is poorly serving our county. Their failure to defend and support Tommy Gong and his staff despite their superlative work in our elections implicitly promotes the lie of election fraud in our county and threatens the stability and functioning of that office. This will be remembered in upcoming elections. It will also be remembered that Lynn Compton apparently had confidence in Mr. Gong and his staff in 2018 with her razor-thin victory that year. Despite their disappointment, progressives did not respond by pandering to the fringe of their party but showed respect for democracy and our institutions. It’s beyond time for the conservative majority on the board to look beyond their own self-interests and show respect and support for our Clerk-Recorder’s Office by appointing the acting director for the remaining term. It is very transparent what you are doing!

Whatever the actual facts were, the Board of Supervisors has the responsibility to oversee our voting processes. Unless you know specific facts which undercut their judgments, the discipline of government functions is one of the Board’s serious duties and I’m glad to hear our elected representatives paying attention and taking action.
If we are going to have massive government (which seems to be the case), we should be thrilled when we find that it is “responsible” massive government.
Why are the usual lefties so relentlessly pushing a specific candidate, and so hysterically opposed to the customary practice of considering a number of candidates to find the best? While the acting Clerk/Recorder may ultimately prove to be the best, why shouldn’t we consider a wider field? These partisans would be more comfortable running the government of a place like North Korea where they can rule by decree.
I don’t believe the claims by the desperate Democrats, they are up to no good.
