On my way to work in the rain, I had the misfortune of rear-ending another vehicle. Not the best way to start my day, certainly, but every person I encountered related to this incident was incredible; from Amy and Ian Parkinson, who were the unlucky souls to be ahead of me in traffic but were more concerned about me and my baby than their dented back door, to Gary Marshall, the CHP officer who took the report, then held my little guy while I got my things when the tow truck showed up. Thanks also to Kyle Rizzoli, who made sure I was taken care of at an auto body shop, and Keith at Rainbow Auto Body, who called and reserved a rental car for me before I even showed up at his shop. This is why people want to be in SLO. It’s a beautiful place, we can all appreciate that, but the people are what truly make it unique. I count my blessings that only the car was hurt and that I live in such a wonderful area. I’m staying.
