San Luis Obispo Mayor Jan Marx has filed papers to seek another term as mayor.
Marx filed with the city clerk on Jan. 25. The move prompted Councilman Andrew Carter to announce that he’s also running for mayor. Councilman Dan Carpenter also filed for reelection to the City Council on Jan. 25.
Marx served on the City Council from 1998 to 2002 and returned in 2008. She was elected mayor in 2010. Carter was first elected to the council in 2006. Carpenter was appointed to the council to fill Marx’s council seat in 2010.
