George Carlin once suggested that the concept of the American Dream is a tool used by “the owners” to keep people placid and focused on trivial things, preventing them from realizing how rigged the system is against them.
“It’s a big club, and you and me ain’t in it.”
This concept has never proved to be so resoundingly accurate as it has in the last four months where we’ve all seen complete and total disregard of the laws and ethical standards surrounding conflicts of interest wherein our current president and his family have profited from his position. We have all been witness to the largest money-grab in American history and few are doing anything about it.
Qatar handed over a $400 million luxury Boeing 747 jetliner; private individuals spent $148 million on a meme coin in a contest to dine with his majesty; Abu Dhabi committed $2 billion to World Liberty Financial, the family crypto company; Saudi Arabia gifted $2 billion to Jared Kushner from its public investment fund; Don Jr. co-owns “The Executive Branch” where membership costs $500,000; Eric partnered with DarGlobal to secure the Dubai Trump International Hotel; and Vietnam just approved construction of a $1.5 billion golf resort in Hung Yen province in exchange for tariff reductions.
And then there’s the Trump Gold iPhone and the $5 million Trump Gold Card offered to wealthy foreigners who want a shortcut to U.S. citizenship. Finally, the Big, Beautiful Bill Act kicks 16 million Americans off their health insurance, makes the largest cuts to nutrition assistance in history, and makes higher education less affordable, all to pay for massive tax cuts that directly benefit billionaires. Two years from now, people making more than $500,000 per year will receive a collective $168 billion tax reduction. And there’s absolutely nothing that any of us can do about it.

Republicans have been working on this since the election of Ronald Reagan and his cristian coalition and immoral majority. Plus the three Bush/Cheney Family wars of lies.
Putin has been grooming Trump since then as well, for this “Reality TV Victim” role.
George Carlin always spoke the Truth and bluntly told those who were listening what was behind the curtain.
It looks like Putin may have finally won the war, with the MAGA Congress, SCOTUS and Executive Branch.

Because prior to the current administration, government wasn’t providing insane tax breaks to the rich and corporations, Americans received awesome, inexpensive healthcare, all immigrants to the US were documented and vetted, social security wasn’t under threat, the economy was providing millions of well paying jobs, the defense budget wasn’t bloated, etc. the fall of the US government only happened when the Trump regime took over. Right, got it. Your post wasn’t satire was it?

Biden would scare the crapp out of Americans by bombing Russia, Trump would promise to end the war “within 24 hours,” we would end up voting for him for that promise, he would win, and then the Democratic party could come away with clean hands, and the bankers that run our country could then collapse our economy and do the necessary cuts to try and save the dollar and our credit rating so they could continue to enrich themselves. Nah, that’s just too crazy, right? Some of us haven’t forgotten what Bill Clinton and the Dems have done to the American worker. But you aren’t a worker are you, Scott? Are you one of the people who benefited from destroying the lives of average Americans by exporting our jobs and lives straight to China and Mexico? Just ask yourself, Scott.
