Weird rain has come to attack both the suburban neighborhood and apparently the entire world that Ann (Greta Lee) and Jason’s (Wagner Moura) family lives in. Kids Ruth (Riley Chung) and Graham (Noah Alexander Snosnowski) must navigate their new world as well, and it seems that there’re monsters lurking outside just waiting for them to escape.
This flick does better at its beginning. Unfortunately, the story suffers from a bit too much time on its hands, and more is revealed than needs to be. Some suspense lingers, but when the film shows its monsters, it loses much of its mystery—the idea of the monsters is much scarier than the monsters themselves. The family soon suffers from what relates to compartment syndrome.

Up until it chokes itself out, the film is an interesting ride. I doubt you’ll feel horror-film satisfaction from this one, but the actors are working hard to keep it interesting. Save this one for when you need something a bit spooky but that you can overhaul in your head quite easily. This doesn’t perfectly fit any bill but stays entertaining enough to be a watchable flick.
