Rubies? Diamonds? Marble? Gold? You can keep ‘em. I’m more interested in sparkling, light-reflecting glass works of art created by SLO County artists galore. The Gallery at the Network is currently featuring a cascade of stunning, shimmering creations through September, including glass works by Bryn Bridenthal, Melissa Campbell, Larry Le Brane, Diane Miller, Richard Mortensen, Sher Roberts, and Janine Stillman.

As part of the Glass Act III show, these seven artists are showcasing a range of functional and decorative baubles, jewelry, dishware, wine glasses, paperweights, wind chimes, clocks, salt and pepper shakers, and more. Want to know what “more” is? Go see for yourself!

Whether crafted through the method of glass blowing, fusing, combing, casting, sand blasting, or combining multiple materials with glass—all these unique works come together to make for a super shiny experience that could blind the passersby (may I suggest dark shades?).

An artists’ reception will kick off during Art After Dark on Friday, Aug. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. Music will be performed by Terry Sanville and the event is free to the public. The Gallery at the Network is located at 778 Higuera St., suite B.
