During the debate between challenger Jimmy Paulding and incumbent SLO County 4th District Supervisor Lynn Compton, Ms. Compton said she views every vote through the prism of small business owners and the economy. While that approach has merit, it is also shortsighted and narrow. It fails to consider the long-term impacts of her votes on water supplies, air quality, infrastructure, congestion, and quality of life for all. And it lacks vision and long-range planning.

Jimmy Paulding will listen to the concerns of all constituents and work to find balance between growth and the health of our environment. He has a vision for revitalizing Old Town Nipomo and Oceano and the necessary experience in city planning and community outreach to make it happen. He will develop a concrete plan to meet future energy and water needs and work to obtain grants to improve roads.

We need an inclusive, forward-looking approach to county governance. Jimmy Paulding is the change we need.

  1. Compton had her chance and ended up angering and disappointing vast portions of her constituency. Now lets give the job to Jimmy Pauding and see who does the better job.

At this point its not necessary to argue with the lobbyists and trolls in Comptons camp. Now its all about boots on the ground and making sure people send in their mail in ballots or get to the polls on June 5. The more people who vote the more votes will flow to Mr. Paulding. Lets not take it for granted. This election is crucial for everyone who cares about ending dysfunction and rancor in our local politics.

  2. Letter writer Cindy Hansen is exactly correct in her analysis. Plus, Cindy is a real A.G. resident and not a lobbyist inspired troll posting under a false name as we have seen so much with the letters and comments from Compton “supporters.” Think about that, folks. It’s no joke or exaggeration when someone tells you Compton gets much of her instruction and direction from one or two key lobbyists who she confers with weekly, if not more often. That is NOT serving her constituents.
Please make sure you vote. This election is important. Tell your friends. Paulding is the kind of politician we need leading us into the future. It’s nice to be part of the “Paulding Phenomenon”, something we can tell our grandchildren about one day.
