Last year The Thursday Murder Club saw some older stars solve a mystery in their retirement home, and now The Boroughs does the same—but with a very Stranger Things twist.

THE BOROUGHS
What’s it rated? TV-MA
When? 2026
Where’s it showing? Netflix

Sam, played by the always epic Alfred Molina, has come to the “idyllic” community kicking and screaming after the death of his beloved wife and with his daughter fed up with him. He feels like he’s been put out to pasture, and everyone around this place is a little too friendly. But when a mystery arises, Sam starts to make friends whose suspicions about the community’s founders only deepen as more cover-ups are revealed.

Judy (Alfre Woodard) is suspicious of Wally (Denis O’Hare) and Sam at first—they’re acting like two dudes trying to cover up a crime—but once she’s on board, and Art (Clarke Peters) joins them, they’ve got their work cut out for them trying to find out what the mysterious creature is that took their friend’s life.

With stars like Bill Pullman and Geena Davis joining the cast, this series is full of fun and talent. If you’re a fan of Stranger Things or any of the cast mentioned, this is worth the watch. (eight 40-to-55-min. episodes). ∆
