The former home of Blade Runner Day Spa 956 Monterey St. has a new tenant. Tee’s Me, now at the corner retail spot, is an artist’s take on T-shirt couture. The sparsely furnished shirt shack has three walls covered with shirts, all framed and composed to create a gallery look.

# Owner Joanne Limberg studied fine art at University of New Orleans before relocating to SLO more than 20 years ago. Tee’s Me is Limberg’s first retail endeavor, but her vision for the store is clear and uncluttered, with room to contemplate the profoundness of each piece or shirt, as it were.

The irony, of course, lies in the content of the screen-printed material. Customers’ favorite designs so far have been the “Irish yoga” shirt, which depicts a thoroughly pickled man in various contorted positions such as the Downward Dog face-plant. Other favorites have included “This is what a cool Grand Pa/Grand Ma looks like.” And “Another sexy pregnant woman.”

Tee’s Me also carries a variety of shirts that boast SLO Town pride, whether for yourself or that last hard to shop for person on your holiday list. From adult content to strictly kid stuff, Tee’s Me can help you make a statement without ever saying a word.
