Ernst Storm, a native of South Africa, has an excellent line of wines under his eponymous label. He’s also winemaker with Chuck Carlson at Curtis Winery. I loved Storm’s 2008 Pinot, and this classic white was equally impressive. It really captured me with its pink grapefruit, lime, and grassy aromas and flavors. It’s harmonious and elegant, making it way too friendly on its own. But it’s equally delicious with foods like goat cheese, prawns, whitefish, or poultry; it’s the perfect partner for salads, stir-fries, or appetizers with any of those ingredients. Available at the Los Olivos Wine Merchant, Bin 2860 in Los Olivos, and at Tastes of the Valleys Pismo, it’s only $20 retail.
