History has proven that socialistic promises such as in the Green New Deal are empty promises. Socialism always ends in an authoritarian police state. Americans only need to look today to Venezuela where the government’s security forces are firing on their own people who are demanding food. Venezuelans are suffering starvation, misery, and despair. This must not happen in America.

This is why the Democrats’ Green New Deal must be rejected. It has reared its ugly head in D.C., in Sacramento, and now in SLO County.

The Republican Party of San Luis Obispo County voted unanimously to reject the Green New Deal. We also rebuke Congressman Salud Carbajal for his co-sponsorship of a resolution by Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that recognizes the duty of the federal government to create a Green New Deal.

These socialistic proposals promise vast new social programs such as free health care for all, free college tuition, as well as a guaranteed basic income. There is no plan on how to pay for these programs, adding tens of trillions of dollars to the national debt. This will surely bankrupt our nation and collapse our national economy.

As Britain’s Margaret Thatcher once said: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”

  1. Im sorry, Randall, but when you open your argument with a lie, it takes the wind out of your sails for the entire thing. Socialism always leads to authoritarian rule? You give one example, the tragedy going on in Venezuela. I guess you forgot Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and most of Europe. Quit with the scare tactics.

  2. Randall neglected our own U.S. history with the WPA, interstate highway system, Social Security, etc., etc. They are working so hard to make the Republican party 100% irrelevant to the needs and realities of the 21st Century.

  3. So typically ignorant of Republicans who want to keep all the wealth in their hands and no one else. If you think Republicans actually know anything about anything but capitalism and the results of trickle down economics, you are brain damaged. A study by the Hoover Institute at Stanford, a right wing think tank, found that trickle down economics is a hoax. Not even a psychiatrist could make these ignoramuses capable of logical interpretations of political policies.

  4. This is a prime example of the dysfunction caused be the two party system. A huge idea, with many facets, can be quickly dismissed without any consideration, by simply labeling it with one dirty word. There are a few good points in AOC’s plan (there are many bad ones) but because of the two party system, they will be forever a part of the “other side” and lost along with the rest.

  5. Are you going to cancel the largest socialist institution on the planet, the USA military, because you read a silly book in high school by a woman on welfare, Atlas Shrugged. I agree, we should, end socialism, lets start with private property and the military, both wouldn’t be possible without heavy intervention by the state.

The socialist vs. capitalist debate is very very boomer tier, the 20th century is over my dudes

  6. Oh it’s funny he brings up Venezuela, a place much more privatized than China which is eclipsing the USA. But I guess China isn’t as affected by CIA meddling as much as Venezuela is. Plus the collective IQ of Venezuela is 84, while China’s is 105. But that might be too much for a Republican to consider.

So what I wanted to say was that I don’t care if the Republicans are going to abandon conservatism and fully embrace liberalism (capitalism) to become the party of stupid like the Democrats, but please please please STOP CALLING YOURSELVES CONSERVATIVES. There isn’t a single conservative aspect to the Republican Party. Global capitalism is one of the single most destructive influences on the family. The traditional family is a primary aspect of conservatism. Right now you have speakers at CPAC bragging about how capitalism frees women from marriage and children, sounds like CPAC is a Marxist organization to me. Supporting capitalism is not a conservative value. Capitalism destroys family and nation. Capitalism seeks to destroy global diversity and homogenize everything under one yoke. Capitalism IS globalism. Cutting taxes for global corporations and sending the money to Israel is not a conservative value. The people who called themselves conservatives, who defined the conservative movement in America in the early 20th century were very against global capitalism. They accurately predicted how personal and national sovereignty would be transferred to a clique of rootless elites. Ask yourself this, what do the handful of the most powerful global corporations that the Republicans keep favoring support? Do they support family and traditional values? Does Apple, Google, PayPal, Amazon etc support traditional values? Or do you see them supporting feminism, homosexuality, and multiculturalism etc etc…. ? They do the the later. So if you think global capitalism somehow supports traditional values, that’s total nonsense. Republicans seem to think conservatism means equality, that’s Marxism, that’s coming from the left. So that’s just fine if the Republicans are in bed with morons like Dennis Prager, Ben Shapiro, and Jordan Peterson but you aren’t conservatives by any stretch of the imagination. You’re just another liberal party.
