San Luis Obispo author and musician Terry Sanville recently release a new novel, Deep Water Secrets, the second in his Paul Saldano mysteries series “set on Santa Catalina Island and in the deep clear waters off the island’s leeward coast and the town of Avalon,” Sanville explained via email.

The story, which follows The Long Fall, “traces a current-day police investigation of a tragedy that happened during World War II. With plenty of historical details and wartime intrigue, the novel’s heroes, Sgt. Paul Saldano and his lover and companion, Jamella, discover long-held secrets hidden beneath the waves and experience the dangers found there.”

During World War II, the U.S. Military occupied Catalina, and 290 feet below the surface in the San Pedro Channel lies the heart of this mystery, debris from which is recovered after an earthquake and tsunami rock Avalon. Saldano and Jamella dive the wreck below, but so do unscrupulous salvage divers “who only see dollar signs.”

Deep Water Secrets is available on Amazon, as are Sanville’s other novels, The Long Fall, The Misplaced, Face-to-Face, and the short story collections Driving Without Lights and The Last Time You Were Here. You can learn more about the author on his website, terrysanville.com. Δ
