A few years ago, Clint Pearce, head honcho at Madonna Construction, helped con SLO residents into passing Measure G, a multi-million-dollar slush fund that pays for pet projects. (Seen any improvement in our streets since then?) Of course, the ever-shilling Pearce wasn’t honest enough to inform residents that his company would benefit by building some of those projects.

Now, Pearce is back with another sweet-sounding proposal. I mean, who can be opposed to an independent living and nursing home facility, right? What are you, a communist?

(Psst. Oh, by the way, he’s using that part of his project behind Home Depot on LOVR to “look-over-here-not-over-there” swindle us into approving the rest of the massive project: 75 homes, 200 apartments, and 45,000 square feet of retail space. Move along, nothing to see here.)

So, the next time you’re bogged down at that gridlock-inducing entry into Costco, you’ll probably be thinking to yourself: “I sure wish there were more cars here.” Calm your nerves by keeping in mind that the snake-oil-salesman is ready to add thousands of cars a day to that mess.

Just to benefit the elderly, don’t you know?
