To the driver of the small brown pickup driving on North River Road in Paso Robles: Yes, I was one of the two bicyclists riding side by side on North River Road. We hadn’t seen a car in over 10 miles, and since we had much to talk about I moved up next to my friend. Except for the close pass and cutoff, by you, we had an otherwise great ride enjoying the extended spring weather and green vistas.
When we embrace all forms of exercise, the roads become a place where people feel welcome to walk, run, or ride without fear.
For the rest of you who pass with consideration, thank you, we put our lives in your hands when we ride with traffic.
