After reading the article “Margarita Ranch gets board OK,” (Nov. 20), I feel the need to express my opinion on the matter. There will be unavoidable impacts on traffic, water supply, habitat, agriculture, and air pollution, so why let this project pass?

In addition, I must express that if over 500 new homes, a golf course, a clubhouse, restaurants, an amphitheater, galleries, gift shops, and wineries are built, it would destroy the quaint beauty of the small town. I feel that most of these new developments are a waste of money and gorgeous land.

Does the area really need a clubhouse? What about another golf course? Do we honestly need another winery to add to the surplus of already established wineries on the Central Coast? The answer is no.

I can only hope that the best decision is made in regard to the environment and the town of Santa Margarita.
