This wonderful bubbly has always been among my favorite California sparkling wines. Consistently delicious, it’s fairly close to its Champagne counterpart in its wonderfully balanced flavors. It tastes of fresh, tangy green apples with subtle notes of spice and flowers; it’s awesome on its own and with food. A great choice for kicking off a holiday dinner party, any meal seems more festive when it begins with bubbles. It’s delicious with shellfish, poultry, or cheesy appetizers (the tasty kind). And why wait for a holiday—it perfectly complements a special brunch (but please don’t adulterate this fine sparkling wine with OJ). Right now it’s a great time to buy several bottles as it’s on sale at BevMo! in SLO for $18.99, and I picked it up at Costco in SLO for only $15.49, it’s normally around $25 retail.
