I find your headline, “Locals join the nationwide rally for reproductive rights” (May 23), confusing. Anti-abortion does not infringe on reproductive rights, it protects reproduction and the lives of innocent unborn children. There is no excuse in today’s society for abortion with the availability of birth control and contraceptives.
That someone would be too lazy to prevent contraception is the problem. Abortion shouldn’t be a convenience for laziness. No one seems to get mad when drunk drivers get arrested because they can harm or kill someone. It comes down to taking personal accountability.
Our education system is also to blame for unwanted pregnancy. They don’t teach abstinence any longer, and they educate our youth into thinking abortion is normal, when in reality it is murder.
It’s time for people to take personal responsibility for their actions. And Planned Parenthood should be teaching abstinence and in the event of pregnancy, how to care for a child or put the child up for adoption. Abortion is not the answer.

Dave, clearly abortion is not the answer for you, and you have every right to believe what you want to believe. The thing is, Universal Law states clearly that humans on Earth have what is called “free will”, so others have the right to believe that abortion IS the answer.
Here’s a notion from a spiritual perspective that I use as a mantra in every aspect of my life and the world around me:
“We are all doing the best we can do with what we have, where we are.”
It puts things into perspective: Where was I a decade ago? What about 30 years ago? What was I thinking and doing? Am I a better person now that I was at the age of 16? The above mantra embraces the process of being human, rather than judging others for behavior in a single moment in time.
So, rather than focus on how superior I am to others and sending out negative energy to the world, I spend a great deal of my time learning about what is really happening to humans and Earth on a grand scale. This leaves out my concerns for any other woman’s right to choose, first, her sexual partner; second, whether or not she will bring human life to the planet; and third, how she will manage that decision.
I am of the understanding that life on Earth is horribly out of whack for a number of reasons that are difficult for many people to embrace, but that our entire Universe, our solar system, and Mother Earth are all working together to rectify the awful state of our collective beingness. I, too am working on shifting the energy, and I wholeheartedly urge you, Dave, to learn about Earth’s (and humanity’s) ascension process for a new perspective.
