If all you want is low-income housing without any regard to those who sacrificed to accomplish this on their own, then you are redistributing the hard-earned dollars of working families. You are supporting theft by the rude, arrogant, bullies, Supervisors Adam Hill and Bruce Gibson. If you want to talk about an ideology, they are the poster children and superstars of “take, take, take from me” to solve all the problems of this county. I say, enough!
Supervisor Lynn Compton was right on with her comments and vote during the December Board of Supervisors meeting on housing. She said that the builders will just pass on the huge extra fees to me, the real homebuyer, and that is not fair!
Why does everyone have to own a home? Why does everyone have to live here instead of understanding that we all have choices based on reality? So tomorrow I should show up in Beverly Hills and cry “I need low-income housing, fix it for me.”
Happy New Year, and let us resolve to make 2018, “Smaller more efficient government, lower taxes, and more personal freedom.”

How selfish!!!
When you help others out, you’re making a better world for all of us. We all gain, not lose, when we have a diverse economy with multiple levels of middle class lives. If its just Rich, and Poor, history shows that it doesnt work out so well. Workers need places to live reasonably close to their jobs, and this helps Employers create new business’s. Good for everybody.
I so can’t wait till Lynn Compton is gone and there is a 3-2 majority the other way…..what a bunch of selfish conservative people we have here. No compassion for the other guy…..their motto is to give to the few and take from the many! Jimmy Paulding is educated in planning and is the perfect replacement for Lynn Compton!
What makes this writer and others like her so sure that only the affluent have sacrificed? Surely those reading this have witnessed average working people on the job in fields, factories, call centers, elder care facilities, hotels and construction sites. These jobs may have 21st Century titles, but it’s much of the same work my parents and grandparents did. My grandparents, by the way, were immigrants from Ukraine. That generation’s sacrifices and work ethic made it possible for my parents to step up from the working class to the middle class. My parents’ sacrifices made it possible for people like me to go to college and become professionals, or at the very least, have an opportunity for decent-paying jobs.
It is human nature to want to work for a better life for your family. What are we so afraid of losing by investing in the success of working people? Of valuing other people’s contributions? This selfishness is a sickness in our society. It is weak and immoral.
To portray the very people who pick our crops and take care of our ageing parents as lazy “takers” is not only insulting to them, but to the whole idea of America. Being cruel does NOT make us stronger. Let’s be honest. If anybody is looking for a hand-out it is wealthy conservatives. Their mantra: “Tax cuts for the rich! What’s mine is mine, what’s yours is up for grabs.” In the name of common sense and common decency, my deepest hope is the Jimmy Paulding wins Compton’s seat.
encourage all readers here to join the growing Republican/Democratic coalition eager to elect Jimmy Paulding to the County Board of Supervisors and help put an end to all the ridiculous infighting among a lot of big talking, know-nothing windbags of both major political parties. We need a fresh, well-educated and experienced and INDEPENDENT voice on the board. There has not been a better candidate for supervisor than Jimmy Pauling in years.
Let’s help bring our community together. Vote for Jimmy Paulding.
There is no need to talk bad about other candidates or Board Members when there is so much GOOD to talk about when it comes to aspiring Board of Supervisors member JIMMY PAULDING.
Whether you live in the Fourth District or not, the best solution to the problem with our Board is to be part of the REPUBLICAN/DEMOCRATIC coalition in support of Jimmy Paulding for County Supervisor. Paulding has the common sense, integrity and RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE that will give the Board the type of balance and feet-on-the-ground TALENT it needs at this crucial time.
You don’t have to take my word for it. Do the research. Meet the man. Paulding is the type of person that will promote a fresh and productive sense of unity on the Board and in our community at a time when it is needed more than ever.
