As spring approaches, the youth of America have one thing on their minds: baseball.

But where to start for the young baseball newbie? Never fear, local Joe Pace, president of Central Coast Little League, has the answer.

Pace recently published his first book, A Youngster’s Guidebook of How to Play Baseball. The book is designed to help the young player between the ages of 7 and 11 approach the game more confidently. It has diagrams, illustrations to color in, and word search and crossword puzzles of baseball terminology.

“When I was a kid, I wanted pictures, diagrams, and bullet-point terms to learn by,” Pace said in a press release. “Most books on how to play baseball are super text heavy, which turned me off. We all want our kids to read more, so A Youngster’s Guidebook of How to Play Baseball is an easy to read book that offers the young ball player a proven method to learn the game in a step-by-step process.”

The book is available online and costs about $8.
