To see oil painter Jose Silva’s lively brushstrokes is to marvel at his ability to achieve realism with such a loose, painterly, impressionistic style. You only have until Sept. 29 to see a collection of Silva’s work in the lower gallery of Morro Bay’s Gallery at Marina Square, where he’s one of September’s featured artists.
According to his bio, “Since arriving on the professional scene in 2022, Jose J. Silva worked on a wide variety of creative projects, catching the attention of the art community in the world of Impressionistic Realism. JJ gathers much of his inspiration from movies, personal experiences, his surroundings, and other painters around the world. Painters including Richard Schmid, John Singer Sargent, and Casey Baugh. His work has been well-received by collectors and critics alike—a fact he doesn’t take lightly. JJ’s hope is to make art exciting and thought-provoking for people who wish to explore more within his paintings.”
