Celebrating 100 years of baseball’s catchy chorus “Take Me Out To the Ball Game,” the Paso Robles Post Office is collecting new and used baseball equipment for Pitch in for Baseball, a nonprofit organization that gives needy children a chance to participate in America’s favorite pastime. Donors can drop off their equipment in the lobby of the Paso Robles Post Office at 800 6th Street In Paso Robles through Friday, July 25. The Postal Service will also be commemorating the anniversary of the classic baseball tune with a new 42-cent postage stamp. United Way of San Luis Obispo will dedicate a trail in Mitchell Park on August 2 as part of a public campaign called Born Learning. The trail will feature 10 activity stations that provide interactive outdoor games for children and adults, designed to boost language and literacy development based on the latest child development research by United Way experts.
