The Founding Fathers drafted a Constitution that protects the rights of the individual from an oppressive government. The Declaration of Independence says all men are created equal; they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title 42, Chapter 21, of the U.S. Code prohibits discrimination in the form of race, color, religion, sex, and national origin. It is against the law in America to discriminate against your fellow American for any of these reasons.
Yet in 2018, the national news media and the Democratic Party have determined it is permissible to discriminate against any individual whose political views differ from theirs. It has become fashionable to attack conservative Americans simply because their political views differ from those of the left. This is exactly the same type of bigoted behavior the Ku Klux Klan engaged in during the early part of the 20th century. This is the same type of behavior engaged in by Nazi Germany against the Jews—one group forcing its beliefs upon another, by physical force if necessary.
So what is the objective of these intolerant people who persecute and commit violence upon others because of their political views? They have a lynch mob mentality; they want total control. Their actions demonstrate their objective, which is to eliminate freedom of speech and freedom of thought. They are intolerant of any view other than their own. This is the Ku Klux Klan all over again; they are persecuting anyone with a conservative view of government.
They yell and scream over anyone who speaks an opposing political view, “Conservatives sit in the back of the bus.” They are incapable of a rational discussion regarding their political differences. Just like the KKK, they physically attack those whose views and political policy ideas are different from theirs. Why are these people afraid of an honest, respectful discussion of their differences? Our country’s answer to disagreements over free speech has always been more free speech. Why must they resort to physical violence like the Ku Klux Klan? Is antifa the new America? Is that what we want?
This lynch mob mentality is endorsed by the national media against anyone with a conservative point of view. They attack anyone who disagrees with them publicly by beating them down because they dare to speak out against the propaganda generated by the socialist, fascist, communist left and condoned by a complicit media. This same behavior occurs in our colleges. Why is this tolerated?
They say “sexual harassment” is use of a position of power to gain sexual favors, yet government officials in the FBI and the Department of Justice use the power of their positions to persecute others with opposing political views. This is a crime, yet law enforcement officials at the highest levels allow this to occur. This is the worst kind of abuse of American citizens by their government. The reason America was founded was to protect “we the people” from a tyrannical government. The job of the “free press” is to shed light on the issues by providing a fair and honest assessment of the facts. May I remind you there is a reason we have a Second Amendment!
Is this what happens to a country when “illegal” no longer means “illegal”? Δ

May I remind you, John, that we currently have a sitting president that encourages divisive behavior and incites violence. A president who is supposed to represent all Americans yet continuously spouts nonsense about liberals and progressives, as you just did. There are radicals on both sides, that does not mean the majority of us are incapable of rational thought and discussion.
This more of the same sullbhit. It’s coming from both sides. Complaining about imaginary slights and questioning the others morality, instead of discussing policy.
This stupid game is being orchestrated from the top, because it keeps them in power. That’s all they care about. Divide and conquer. I wish there were no political parties. (I know, keep dreaming)
What we need is campaign finance reform, term limits, and shortened campaign season.
What we need are voters who bother to study the past actions of candidates and the possible unintended consequences of Ordinances, Legislation and Propositions on their ballots.
Informed voters can then elect individuals who understand 1. that the Declaration quoted in the opinion piece is the conscience of the Constitution and that 2. the Constitution does not create an all powerful federal government. It LIMITs Congress to a list of ‘enumerated powers’ which is pretty much ignored today.
So the federal government grows bigger and bigger over time until We The People forget all about limiting government to its proper role of Protecting those Rights – Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.
At the same time, voters – one Proposition at a time – continue to expand the powers of state, county and local governing bodies.
I know saying the market will solve it is a time worn phrase but opening some government service to private competition might prove the market can solve problems.
To get some additional context on our current understanding of the role of the news media, I encourage New Times readers to take in the details of John Texeira’s conservative complaint that the right is unfairly hounded by Democrats and the mainstream media.
He makes very little sense and his self-cloaked victimhood leads Texeira to inaccurately compare critics of the right to the KKK, Nazis, lynch mobs, which, by the way, are all right wing entities. Texeira’s complaints are yet another and continuing litany of melodramatic grievances that are heard from the white nationalist right, Trump’s base.
And especially, examine his closing remarks on the “reason we have a Second Amendment” – an implicit threat of armed insurrection from the white right against “tyranny” from the FBI and Dept of Justice. Historically, the Second Amendment was ratified to allow states in the new Republic to enhance their security by raising militias for defense against Indian raids and invasion from adjacent British territories. Today, we have “2nd Amendment gun fetishism” and the violence that accompanies white gun culture.
The “conservative” pity party continues. People who are bullies constantly whine about being victimized by supposedly intolerant liberals, all the while supporting a depraved sociopathic, narcissistic, misogynistic, racist, dictator-loving, mobster-embracing, dim-witted, bad-tempered asshole & probable Russian asset working to transform the U.S. into a Russia-style thugocracy.
This is what happens when you get all of your news from only one new source – Fox news. All of the other news sources – ABC, CBS, NBC, USA Today, etc. etc. must be wrong, only what a few ‘entertainers’ on Fox say is correct. Its so very sad to see people being misled like this.
Excellent comment, Gordon Fuglie.
Perfect description of these whiners and their veiled threats of violence. These people are brainwashed cultists, worshiping a very flawed leader.
Whine much, John?
This article can easily be adapted to be pro-liberal (or anything else) because there are very few concrete examples and those that are used aren’t particularly relevant. To adapt merely change a few words in each paragraph.
The author calls for an honest, respectful discussion. It’s a good idea. Where can we meet?
