Thank you for printing Zaf Iqbal’s opinion piece “Striking down the stigma” (Nov. 5). It is excellent reporting, not just opinion. I am a Cuesta College student doing a research paper on the overcrowding in our prisons. Zaf is correct about the number of inmates who have mental health issue. It is heartbreaking that someone wants to build a psychiatric hospital in Templeton and residents are opposing this. People need to wake up out of their illusion, open their hearts and minds and get to work helping to make the world a better place. The people I am talking about are the healthy ones, not the mentally ill.
