Festival Mozaic and Cal Poly Arts present Los Angeles dance company Bodytraffic, in one of its final performances, at the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo on Thursday, July 16 (doors at 6:30, show at 7:30 p.m.; ages 5 and older; $30 to $95 at pacslo.org). Formed in 2007, this inventive and eclectic dance company is disbanding after this final season.

“What began as a bold dream has grown into an internationally acclaimed contemporary dance company known for its vibrant artistry and powerful connection with audiences,” organizers announced. “With a compelling style that reflects the ‘invention, attitude, and urban edge’ (The Boston Globe), of its Los Angeles home, Bodytraffic has conquered the contemporary dance world with its stunning performers, technical mastery, and commitment to the most challenging repertoire.”

Founded by Artistic Director Tina Finkelman Berkett, Bodytraffic “aims to endorse established and new voices and be a home for an eclectic range of styles and perspectives that tell vital stories,” its website explains.

“With stunning performers, technical brilliance, and a commitment to bold, innovative repertoire, Bodytraffic delivers work that is as sophisticated as it is exhilarating,” the announcement continued. “Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness the energy, joy, and artistry that have defined Bodytraffic for two decades, as the company takes the stage for one of its final performances.” ∆
