I will never drink or buy Justin wine ever again and I applaud Vons in Atascadero for removing Justin wines from their shelves.

David Ricanati’s—Justin’s president—“very sorry” means nothing to me after his company cut down an oak woodland. Where is the accountability?

Go to youtube.com/watch?v=YcnWfFgAiCA to see the before and after.

This is not the first time Justin has cut oaks en mass. Go to YouTube to see the destruction at the intersections of Adelaide Road and Chimney Rock Road in 2011. Mr. Ricanati asking for a second chance is actually asking for a third chance because the county did not have an ordinance to protect oaks.

The SLO County Board of Supervisors is taking emergency action but their staff report does not include board action on steps toward a permanent ordinance. The proposed duration of the urgency measure is 45 days. Aug. 16 is the date set to consider renewing each ordinance for another 22.5 months.

It is time for county residents who care about our oaks to press for the creation of a far stronger permanent ordinance for our county and enforcement.
