There is an excellent article, written by German Lopez and published by Vox: “I’ve covered gun violence for years. The solutions aren’t a big mystery.” He presents clear statistics showing the obvious connection between the high number of guns owned by private citizens and the high numbers of gun-related deaths, including school shootings, in the U.S., compared to other countries. I implore everyone to read it. To deny the connection is simply idiotic. It’s like not acknowledging a link between an increase in drug related deaths if crack, heroine, and opioids were suddenly sold over the counter to anyone over 18. Come on, people! What kind of country are we? Please look beyond your loyalty to one political party and vote your conscience. Our lives depend upon it.
