I just finished reading the latest comments regarding Shawn’s on Main in Morro Bay written by Tobie Charles and Nancy Johnson (letters, Dec. 9-16). Since I was one of the 20 people left standing out in the cold the night Shawn was a no-show at the prearranged dinner, I would like to add a word or two.

Luckily for us, there are some real class dining establishments in town, and one of them, Windows on the Water, turned what seemed to be a total disaster into one great evening of fabulous food and great accommodations for our entire group!

Since a satisfied customer is the best advertising one can get, I would venture to say that 20 people, each relating their dining-out experience to a friend or two, can make or break a business — like ripples in a pond. So far everyone I’ve spoken with has no desire to try what’s-his-name on Main. I don’t care how good the food is, you still need people to come and eat it.
