That was a great Christmas gift to the community to write a story about growing and distributing local food (“Chew on this,” Dec. 22). Thanks so much for researching the local food scene and doing a story on it for the holiday season. We really appreciate hearing about good people doing good work for the planet and for one another. It was so great to see Rob and Karyn Kimmel getting recognition for their permaculture farming practices.
I wanted folks to know that locally we have a SLO Permaculture Guild. This guild is a group of people interested in pursuing permaculture ideals and to learn from one another how to apply permaculture principles in our own backyards.

Permaculture follows three ethics that would go a long way to solve many of our world’s problems. The ethics are: Care for the Earth, Care for People, Share the Wealth. Imagine if we all lived according to these three ethics!
