Regarding Ray Bracken’s comments on the weather (“The evidence is clear on global warming,” Feb. 18) as we experience one of the coldest winters and feel sorry for the thousands of people back east who have to find their cars under a blanket of heavy snow: I am glad we are having global warming as it is preventing another ice age.
Bracken’s prognostications are about as accurate as the time many years ago when my husband was promoting a community-wide sewer for Los Osos at the cost of less than $20 million. Bracken argued we did not need a sewer and if we put in a sewer in Los Osos it would open the flood gates to growth and development. He and his friend Al Gore, the inventor of the Internet, should team up together. We now have to spend $165 million, thanks to such people as Bracken.
