The Estero Bay Kindness Coalition has mission: to ensure no one in the Morro Bay and Los Osos community goes hungry. What began in 2017 when founder Bobby deLancellotti provided 10 families in need with gifts including $100 gift cards to a local supermarket has expanded to three programs, 130 volunteers, and two food pantries. It works with eight schools, 25 nonprofits, and 11 churches, and it’s time for its annual fundraiser.
On Sunday, Aug. 2, from 1 to 5 p.m., Casa Ramos Art Gallery will host a reception and fundraising sale to benefit the Kindness Coalition. See details at esterobaykindnesscoalition.org.
“It’s going to be amazing,” gallery proprietor Elena Ramos-Peffly said. “An art show and live art demonstrations, live music by Shane Stoneman and Miss Leo, food, beverages, and a raffle fundraiser. We’re donating 40 percent of gallery proceeds from the event to help the food insecure.”
Special guest artist Art Carrillo of Homeboy Art Academy will also be on hand with amazing small-scale highly detailed acrylic paintings.
“I’m giving him wall space and a month of display at the gallery,” Ramos-Peffly said.
If you can’t make the event, be sure to stop by another time and see Carillo’s work. It’s remarkable! Visit losososart.com for more info.
