I wish SLO County Supervisor Adam Hill the very best, and I hope he is sincere in his admissions of aberrance and promises to seek help and regain our respect, but I remain skeptical.
Too often, these “admissions” and these “rehabs” are simply the last refuge of a scoundrel who’s been cornered.
Efforts to recall Supervisor Hill will remain on hold until we can determine whether or not he actually is sincere. If he is, then we look forward to his returning to his seat on the board and conducting the duties for which he was elected in an ethical, professional, and respectful manner.
If he’s being disingenuous, then the recall effort will proceed.
I sincerely hope that it is the former, but I am ready to take aggressive action if it is the latter.

The easiest, quickest and most cost-effective way of improving our local county Board of Supervisors is to join the countywide Republican Democratic coalition in support of Jimmy Paulding for Supervisor.
Mr. Paulding will bring a new level of competence to the board and help smooth its troubled waters while helping our county and its people prosper.
Wow, Mr. Burnes, thank you keeping us informed of your decisions! The people who elected Adam Hill breathlessly await your next step, wondering how Markus Augustus Burnes will rule.
Mr. Burnes, RECALL THIS! As distasteful as Adam Hill seems to his opposition, he and Mr. Gibson are the only two on the board that care enough about “what works best for all of us in the county” to stand up and fight for us! You, on the other hand, seem to want to pander to the teabaggers way of selling us out wholesale to big oil. Go on with your recall effort if you think it will do any good. Let’s see who gets recalled first…….
Mark Burnes’ conceit is two-fold: He assumes, against stiff odds, that an expensive recall effort would be successful. Secondly, he presumes that the person chosen to replace Hill would be preferable to third district voters. Hill’s closest challenger in the last election was whiner-in-chief Dan Carpenter, an enemy of the environment, who voters had plenty of good reason to soundly defeat at the polls.
Is is too much to ask that the malcontents and behind-the-scene lobbyists who want to run Hill out of office actually find a suitable candidate to run against him and let the VOTERS decide who will be supervisor for District Three?
Finally, it is reasonable to assume that a fresh, honest, competent leader like Jimmy Paulding added to the Board would smooth local political waters and create a more pleasant and productive atmosphere on the Board where ALL the board members will be more effective in serving the public in a way that makes voters proud.
So, bottom line, rather than grand-standing about some pie-in-the-sky recall that circumvents the electoral process, how about we improve the Board the old fashioned way: through the typical election process. Fortunately, a new election cycle kicks off in a few months and some fresh, high quality candidates are running for positions throughout the county who can set a good example and lead our community back onto the right path.
And might we assume that Mark Burnes has some political ambitions as well? But if this is the way he kicks off some sort of political campaign, I’m disappointed in him. We need to tone down the attacks, not ramp them up. We need positive change, not more divisiveness. If Burns thinks he has a better idea than Hill, let him bring it to the voters in a straight-foward manner based on what he as to offer, not as political payback for someone having the nerve to tell him to “F-off”. And most surely, Mark, there have been others who have held the same sentiments, whether they have said it to your face or not.
It’s obvious that Fulks is trolling this board as “rightword2” and continually blathering on about little jimmy paulding, the puppet of Gibson and Hill.
Adam Hill has been a disgrace to the office and by his own admission is not fit to serve. He should do the honorable thing and step aside.
Little jimmy would be a disaster. He’s inexperienced, naive, and is already following marching orders from the gibson/hill/fulks machine. It’s obvious and the public can see right through the sham…
It is obvious that notorious and dishonest troll Tim D does not know what hes talking about and is actively trying to deceive voters in the worst way possible. He owes Mr. Fulks, Mr. Paulding and New Times readers a public apology.
Tim D provides a perfect example of dishonest, disgusting and divisive Trump-style rhetoric that good people need to stand up against. One way to do that is to elect quality candidates who have proven themselves time and again to our community.
Readers who do their research will find that independent-minded Mr. Paulding has superior education and real world Work experience that will make him an excellent leader and out standing county supervisor. That is the reason so many people are joining the countywide Republican Democratic coalition to improve local politics by Supporting Jimmy Paulding for supervisor.
This is wonderful comedic reading, rightword2, thank you for my morning chuckle.
Readers SHOULD do their research. When they do, they’ll find both Gibson and Hill, and the Dem party have contributed to jimmy’s campaign, and jimmy has the same treasurer for his campaign that Hill used. He is nothing close to being independent-minded. He is your tool, the tool of hill/gibson, and the Dem party, bought and paid for!
As you cash your checks to spread your political bile, the rest of us will sit back and be amused at your fantasy notion of a non-existent “coalition”. Ha, that is rich.
One of the reasons Jim Pauldings campaign is running so strong and popular is because Adam Hill’s opponents AND his supporters BOTH have so many good reasons to support Paulding in his run for County Supervisor for the Second District. Whether Hill stays or goes, Paulding will play a vital role in bringing order, fairness, decorum and progress to the board. If there is anyone who can inspire Hill and others to shape up it is Paulding.
People of all political persuasions throughout SLO County are sick and tired of the Trump-toned, divisive and miselading rhetoric that has infected so much political dialog on the Central Coast in the last few years. . These days voters are looking for smart, well-qualified and fair-minded candidates who will help bring out community together regardless of individual political party affiliation. Isn’t that the way it should be when it comes to local government?
Do the research. Meet the man. Find out why each and every member of the current San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors, both Republicans and Democrats, c consider Jim Paulding the most prepared, qualified, formidable and POPULAR candidate mounting a challenge to an incumbent board member. The sentiment is unprecedented. Ask Lynn Compton, ask Debbie Arnold, ask Adam Hill, ask Gibson, ask Peschong and you will sense the respect they each hold for Jim Paulding. Only their own self-interest holds them back from being active, out-spoken supporters of the Paulding candidacy. But they all can agree Paulding is a force to be reckoned wit h.
Bottom line: Paulding is the type of candidate that will best serve county residents regardless of political party. Find out for yourself. Meet the man. He’s accessible and has a message that is resonating strongly on the Central Coast. That’s a VERY GOOD thing at this crucial time.
I was expecting you would do it, and you just did. You completely discredited yourself with your fictitious claims.
You are coming off as a biased, contriving fool. You are a better writer than debater.
Despite your fantasy posts, the fact remains: jimmy is already bot by hill/gibson and the Dem party (check the public finance filings). He disingenuously misrepresents himself as an independent when he so clearly is not. It’s pathetic, as are your false posts.
Ok, I’m done, I have to go back to work, I’m not paid to be here like you.
If there is a better candidate than Jimmy Paulding, no one seems to know who that is.
Like so many others on the Central Coast I am donating my time and effort to the Jimmy Paulding campaign. I care about my community and want to help make it better for everyone, not just a small group of behind-the-scenes lobbyists and outside special interests.
